Useful information

With the aim of assisting International Relations Coordinators in their work, the AEC has developed several documents describing the different steps of establishing an exchange. These documents are designed to help international relations coordinators and their institutions to develop, implement and sustain their international exchange activities. The following documents can be downloaded.

  • 10 Steps on how to Implement your Erasmus Exchange in Music
This handbook is particularly useful for members of staff with the task of dealing with ERASMUS student and teacher exchanges. It is divided into three phases: preparatory, implementation and exit. One area makes this advisory paper unique: it addresses the special characteristics and needs of professional music training. The handbook is available in English, German, FrenchSpanish and Italian.

  • How to develop a Joint Programme in Music

The handbook How to develop a Joint Programme in Music is a helpful tool for institutions interested in developing joint programmes. The handbook has been developed in cooperation with the joint Music Masters for New Audiences and Innovative Practice coordinated by the Prince Claus Conservatoire in Groningen, which is used in the handbook as a case study. The handbook discusses the various aspects related to joint programmes in separate paragraphs: preparation, management and organisation, quality assurance, curriculum development, evaluation and monitoring, testing and dissemination and advice on how to apply for funding with the ERASMUS programme. The handbook is available in English, French and German.

  • Code of Good Practice for European Programme Management
International Relations Coordinators are the focus point in the implementation and the follow-up to an international exchange. Therefore, they are asked to be clear from the beginning about what they can realistically offer through any ERASMUS agreement and what limitations there might be. The Code of Good Practice will make the job of the International Relations Coordinators better organised by suggesting actions or measures that need to be implemented or carefully considered.

  • 10 Golden Rules
The Ten Golden Rules concentrate on the mobility of students, which is the main task the International Relations Coordinators deals with. This document is following a chronological order: it starts from the implementation of an exchange by highlighting certain administrative priorities; it then raises the question of the selection procedure; some points are also made concerning the support/advice system for incoming students; and the document concludes with the follow-up to an exchange.

  • DoReMiFaSocrates postcard
The DoReMiFaSocrates website is a very rich source of information for students. You may want to share it with students of your institution. In that case, please download here the 'DoReMiFaSocrates postcard'.
